  • There's a growing body of scientific evidence that regular exercise is not only good for your body, but also great for your mind.  Here's are some key findings from fresh research by experts at the University of Queensland, Australia:
  • Regular exercise can rejuvenate brain cells
  • It can prevent, slow down and reverse cognitive decline
  • Exercise does so by rejuvenating the brain's immune cells and promoting neurogenesis - the creation of new neurons
  • It cuts harmful T-cells in the hippocampus area of the brain that's essential to learning & memory
  • It reverses age-related changes and in older people restores brain patterns similar to those in younger people
  • The scientists emphasize that regular exercise can promote healthy aging and fight cognitive decline
  • They are urging new programs that offer tailored exercise routines to preserve cognitive abilities & enhance well-being in older adults
  • Bottomline:  regular exercise is really good for your body and your mind.
