Canoo's New EV Affordably Priced
Lifestyle Vehicle - Affordably Priced For an EV
Coming to Market 2022
Los Angeles based EV startup Canoo is rolling out in 2022 its much anticipated electric Lifestyle Vehicle at prices starting at a moderately priced $34,750 for an EV and accelerating to $49,950 for its top performing EV models. The company is accepting $100 deposits for the EV, which goes into production and for deliveries in 2022. Canoo is also accepting $100 deposits on its electric pickup truck and electric delivery van, although production on those vehicles won't get underway until 2023.
Lifestyle Range of 250 Miles
The Lifestyle Vehicle runs on a 80 kWh battery pack that can produce 300 hp and 332 pound-feet of torque. It's capable of 250 miles on a charge. The vehicle charges up to 80% within a half hour. Top speeds on the Lifestyle are 125 mph. The cabin is spacious like an SUV and is accentuated by windows on the roof and sides of the vehicle. It can seat 5 to 7 people. All of the Canoo vehicles are being built on the same proprietary modular electric vehicle platform that Canoo has been developing for years. The skateboard platform architecture houses the electric drivetrain and batteries in the chassis under the cabin of the vehicle. The Lifestyle EV will be offered with four different trims including base, premium and the most expensive "Adventure" version that provides more ground clearance and has a more muscular look.
Electric Pick-Up Truck
Source: Canoo E-Pick-Up Truck
Canoo's electric pick-up truck is unique among competitors like Ford, Tesla and Rivian. It is smaller: 184" long as compared with Rivian's R1T at 218" long. Some automotive experts say it is a lot more sportier looking. And the range is less: 200 miles as opposed to the other EV trucks coming out at 300 miles plus. Canoo hasn't released any pricing on the pick-up or delivery van models at this time. But the price point should be less and quite interesting.
Canoo Is Publicly Traded
Canoo is an EV company to watch. It has a strong pipeline of new EV's and a unique modular EV platform to build them on. Plus, it is offering moderately priced, more affordable EVs in the electric vehicle market. It trades on the Nasdaq.
