DGMR's Highly Advanced Technology
The new system has been developed by Google and the United Kingdom's meteorological office. DeepMind's prediction model Deep Generative Model of Rainfall (DGMR) predicts changes within 90 minutes. It uses the computational capacity of the neural network picking out uncertainties in machine learning. A systematic evaluation by over 50 expert meteorologists showed that the model ranked first in accuracy and usefulness in nearly 90% of the cases when compared to two other weather forecasting methods. Current, traditional ways of weather predicting may soon be a thing of the past as the Google DeepMind AI system delivers much higher accuracy.
