Could Foxconn Eventually Manufacture Apple's E-Car?
Apple iPhone manufacturer Foxconn, headquartered in Taiwan, has combined with Italy's leading luxury car design studio Pininfarina to create an all-electric sedan. The vehicle is called the Foxtron Model E and the company says it is going full throttle into the electric car business. The new EV is sleek, stylish and contains state of the art technology. It raises an intriguing question. Could Foxconn, which is a trusted iPhone manufacturer for Apple, possibly end up becoming the manufacturer for Apple's long anticipated electric car? That is a very valid, open question, but we will all just have to wait and see. In the meantime, the new Foxtron is a very impressive automotive design and contains leading edge technology.
Performance & Technology
The Foxtron Model E packs a punch. According to Foxconn, it has a range of 766 miles on a 750 hp electric engine and can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in less than 3 seconds. It is a smooth and sleek luxury sedan with a spectacular lighting system and displays. There are a super bright headlight strip and taillights. The front, rear and sides of the EV have smart surfaces that communicate with those around it. The smart surfaces tell other drivers and pedestrians that the car is turning, or that it's safe to drive or walk around it. A display also greets the driver when they open the EV's door.
Design and Styling
The exterior of the EV is curvy, smart looking and very smooth. The interior is spacious and sophisticated with a large display panel stretching from the driver's door to mid-dashboard. The display contains facial recognition technology to help keep the EV safe. There is also a large infotainment screen and a digital gauge cluster in front of the driver. This new car is state of the art automotive technology, beautifully designed and is also emissions free.
