$99.00 DC-NYC One Way Fare

If you have ever travelled from NYC to DC and back, you know a luxurious way to do the route is hard to find.  In fact, it's a bit of a grind whether you go on the Shuttle, Amtrack or drive, unless you have your own private jet to get above and beyond it all.   Now there is an alternative that is an interesting and inexpensive new tech twist on one of the busiest corridors in the US and with potential application globally.  It's a luxurious bus called The Jet with the world's first "Hoverseats" that cancel 90% of the bumps and vibrations along the road.  Add to the motion-cancelling seats, good nutritious foods, beverages and more luxury comforts.  Road warriors have been waiting for new innovation like this for some time.

New Tech - The Jet - Is Deployed

The Jet has launched and is working the busy I-95 corridor from DC to NYC and back.  It is the startup creation of New Yorker Chad Scarborough who came up with the concept while enduring his many years of travelling the same route.  He thought there must be a better way.  He came up with The Jet, which he designed as a "1st class experience most of us couldn't afford otherwise" at a price of $99 one way.

What Is Deployed?

Scarborough has a fleet of four, 45 feet, customized motorcoaches deployed to take commuters between Washington, DC and New York City.  They have just 14 seats as compared to a typical bus with 50 seats to provide passengers with space.  On board is a kitchen galley loaded with local foods and drinks from eateries, breweries & distilleries for commuters to enjoy fresh on a rotating basis.  There are attendants to cater to your dining needs and complimentary beer and wine.  The bus has ultrafast WIFI, lots of tech and is UV filtration protected against COVID.

What About the Seats?

Besides the low price-tag for a ride, the unique feature about The Jet is the seats.  They are HoverSeats that took two years to design and incorporate some groundbreaking Bose technology.  CEO Scarborough says they are "the world's 1st motion cancelling passenger seats".  They are active suspension seats that cancel out 90% of all vibrations and bumps from the road in a similar fashion to Bose technology that cancels out extraneous noise.  The seat itself has a gel foam base and a memory foam back with lumbar support.  You can recline in the seat at a 45-degree angle and use a pneumatic leg rest while your innovation bus plows through the New Jersey Turnpike onto I-95 to DC.
