VonMercier's Arosa Unique Travel Adventure
A remarkable new piece of travel technology has just been revealed. VonMercier Hovercraft of Rockford, Illinois has unveiled a top-of-the-line, electric, luxury sports hovercraft that flies over the surface of water, land and other types of terrain at speeds up to 60 mph. It combines cutting edge electric vehicle technologies with cutting edge hovercraft technologies. Called the Arosa, it is the world's first sports luxury hovercraft. And it's not just on the drawing board. You can buy it this summer for $100,000 or more with customization. It is a unique, new, travel vehicle adventure for flying just above the surface of water or land.
Tech Specs
This is the world's fastest hovercraft with a top speed of 60 mph and a range of 120 miles when going at 40 mph. It travels on a cushion of air 7 inches above the surface, allowing the driver to fly over water or land. The air cushion is suspended inside a reinforced fabric skirt that compensates for changes in terrain and provides clearance for obstacles. It has an electric powertrain with a gas engine that powers three electric motors. What look like big wheels are actually the rotors for the fan ducts that provide lift to hover and move. The company says this is the most maneuverable hovercraft in the world. It has an advanced directional control system that allows the driver to easily move forward, stop, turn and reverse.
Amphibious Vehicle
Arosa is an amphibious vehicle. It's classified as a boat and as such is not street legal. The first 50 Arosa's will be available for purchase this summer. The e-hovercraft offers a unique and fun way to fly right above the surface of the water and land for a truly unique travel adventure. Also, the company says it would be perfect for someone with a yacht to use it to and from shore.
