BMW has unveiled its long-awaited and much anticipated BMW M3 Touring wagon. This is the M3's sixth generation and the first wagon. The vehicle has a long and distinguished history dating back to 1986. With a 509-horsepower powertrain and all-wheel drive, the vehicle is designed to perform smoothly, sleekly, powerfully and be a lot of fun to drive. It is said to be BMW M's birthday gift to itself.
Elegant Design
The vehicle has a distinctive, very long roof and very sporty, sculptured body lines. The M3 Touring's cabin has a nearly 15" curved infotainment touchscreen display that operates BMW's operating system 8 software system. There is also a 12.3" instrument cluster. The hatchback has 18 cubic feet of cargo space that expands to 53 cubic feet when the seats are down.
Tech Specs
The M3 Touring is a performance vehicle. It is powered by a 3.0-liter, in-line, 6-cylinder gasoline, twin turbocharged engine with 8 -speed transmission that sends power to all 4 wheels. The engine generates 510 hp, 479 ft lbs. of torque and has 375 kW of power. Top speed for the basic vehicle is 155 mph and it can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 3.9 seconds. With the M Driver's Package, top speed is a 174 mph. The Package also offers 4-wheel drive, 4-wheel-drive Sports and rear wheel drive. The vehicle goes on sale later this year globally in Europe, UK, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand but unfortunately, not in North America. Experts expect that BMW will eventually decide to offer it also in North America. The price starts at $105,000. The M3 Touring is getting a lot of buzz in the automotive world.
