The $300,000 Hatchback
A new EV concept that Cadillac is planning to put into global production is getting a lot of buzz. Cadillac has finally offered a formal preview of its much-anticipated Celestiq, which is an all-electric, long, sleek and powerful beauty of a hatchback. The EV is expected to be Cadillac's flagship. Automotive experts are marveling at its elegance, power and beauty, adding that there is nothing like it on the market. It's a concept car that Cadillac says it will put into production and put on the market in the next couple of years. Rumors has it that it will be priced at $300,000, putting it into the Rolls Royce category.
Tech Specs
Cadillac is expected to provide performance details in August when there is an official unveiling of Celestiq. But automotive experts believe that it will have a battery pack of more than 205-kilowatt-hours, with 1,000 hp and a range of more than 400 miles. It will also be equipped with Ultra Cruise, the next generation of Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance technology.
Unique Styling
The Celestiq is an ultra-luxury electric car with smooth, distinctive styling and design. 500 Celestiqs per year will be hand-built. The long, sophisticated hatchback is bathed in gorgeous light displays, including the front grill that totally lights up. It also has unique and expansive taillights. Inside, the EV is a showcase of new technologies.
55 Inch Display
The EV has a huge, 55-inch display that runs the full length of the dashboard. There are screens for the side camera mirrors on each door panel. There are even "electronic digital blinds" that allow the front passenger to watch videos without the driver being able to see them. There are similar digital consoles for the passengers in the rear. On the roof, there is a panoramic glass window with 4 glass panels that each passenger can independently control to their lighting preference.

Celestiq is designed to be Cadillac's flagship and leading-edge statement on the future of driving. It has all of the appearances of elegance, luxury, technological prowess and top range electric power on wheels. Cadillac will officially unveil the vehicle and presumably the price in August.
