Mystery Hyundai N Sporty, Hydrogen Powered Concept Car
South Korean automotive giant Hyundai is doing a big tease on the future of its N Performance division with a big event and the unveiling of several new electric vehicles next week. The Ioniq N5, Ioniq N6 and a mystery, likely hydrogen powered concept car are expected to take the spotlight. Hyundai just released several tease images of the vehicles. The concepts are a showcase for the future range of Hyundai's electric lineup and their technologies. The EVs are also an electrifying departure for Hyundai N which has made a name for itself with turbocharged, 4-cylinder, combustion engine SUVs and hatchbacks.
Tech Spec
Experts believe that the electric powertrain, that will come in the new Ioniq N5 and Ioniq N6 models, will have a 77.4 kWh battery with 600 bhp. The new mystery concept is expected to have a 670 bhp hydrogen powertrain that Hyundai developed with Rimac. The hydrogen powertrain will also be used in the Hyundai FK Vision sports car.
The Mystery Car
The mystery car that Hyundai is teasing is likely the top image that is also on Hyundai's website. It shows a sporty, race-car-like vehicle with a tall, rear fixed wing to provide extra aerodynamic power to the car. There's a sloping tailgate and horizontal rather than vertical taillights. It also sports a pixelated LED light bar across the back of the vehicle. The second photo shows a covered-up, sporty 4-door coupe. And the third picture of a blurred car on a racetrack could be the Ioniq N5. We will learn the details on July 15th, which is Hyundai N Day.
