Best of the Past & Future Sports Cars Combined 

South Korea-based Hyundai just unveiled its hydrogen powered N Vision 74 for its "N Day" and it is getting WOW!! reviews. The 74 is a high performance, hydrogen fuel cell powered EV.  For Hyundai the concept is a rolling innovation lab on wheels designed to push the limits of "driving fun" and to determine the viability of sustainable future performance technologies for Hyundai's N brand.  The EV combines the best of the future's energy sources with the best and most stylish retro & future sports car designs.  It's being called an aerodynamic masterpiece.

Tech Specs

The 74 has grit and power:  670 hp, 664 lb-ft of torque and top speeds of 155 mph.  There are two electric motors in the rear that allow for more precise cornering.  The range on a charge is 373 miles.  The EV's hydrogen fuel tanks can be refilled within 5 minutes.  There's a 62.4 kWh battery pack capable of 800 V fast charging. The fuel cell is located under the hood.  Two hydrogen storage tanks are in the trunk.  The battery is positioned between the two seats, giving the EV a low center of gravity.  

Design

The 74 is being called a retro-futuristic dream machine.  Hyundai has been working on its automotive technology for seven years.  It's a hydrogen hybrid that uniquely incorporates hydrogen fuel cell technology with EV battery technology.  It is designed to provide aerodynamic high performance. Hyundai describes the design as "future oriented" while also reflecting the best of the Hyundai Pony Coupe concept that was considered a work of art in 1974.  Hyundai says the 74 is a race car from the future and the past.

Next Steps

Hyundai's innovative commitment to sustainable N driving will start with the first electric N model, the Ioniq 5 N in 2023.  Many global automotive experts are hoping that the Vision N 74 will then go into full production for global consumers to purchase and enjoy.
