Aston Martin's DBR22 Speedster Is A Rare One
Stunning, New DBR22 - An Icon of Automotive Design
A Rare Speedster For Two
We all know that 007 James Bond's car of choice was the Aston Martin. The British-based automaker, now owned by Canadian billionaire Lawrence Stroll, has just unveiled a stunning V-12 powered speedster that would provide 007 the epic ride of his life. It's called the DBR22 and it celebrates the brand's open-cockpit winning race cars as well as the 10th anniversary of its Q division. It's a carbon fiber, 2-seat speedster that is exquisitely designed and luxuriously accoutered. The DBR22 is a design concept but Aston Martin says it will put it into production and make a limited number of the "ultra-exclusive" vehicles available for purchase. This is one of the rarest Aston Martin vehicles in the company's 109-year history.
Beauty on Wheels
The vehicle is sleek and futuristic with a front grill inspired by DBR racing cars, 22" lightweight alloy wheels and painted in racing green. It features a 3D printed subframe. Top speed is 198 mph. It has a 5.2-liter twin-turbo V12 AE31 engine that pumps out 705 hp and 555 pd-ft of torque. It goes from 0 to 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. There's a smashing new dashboard, infotainment display and no windshield or roof. While that may be surprising, it is because the car design channels the air over the cockpit. This combustion engine vehicle is said to be full of agility, speed, performance, spirit and control. It's being called an icon of automotive design. The price is expected to be "ultra-exclusive" at $1.8 million. For more news stories on epic vehicles, Daily Vehicle Briefing
