"A Car Unlike Any Other"

Italian sports carmaker Ferrari has just brought its SUV, the Purosangue or Thoroughbred, to market.  Ferrari executives call it "a car unlike any other".  It's a 4-door SUV but Ferrari says it performs much more like a sportscar.  It is expected to be an exclusive, big seller for Ferrari. It's specifically designed to help Ferrari reach its sales targets, particularly in China where SUVs are incredibly popular. Ferrari says the pre-orders are pouring in.

Tech Specs & More

The vehicle is expected to have the thrilling handling and performance that Ferrari is known for. It also has Ferrari's classic, elegant, good looks with flowing curves, muscular haunches, tapering carbon-fiber roof, and 22-inch front wheels and 23-inch rear wheels. Purosangue will have seating for four, all-wheel drive and a double-clutch automatic transmission.  The vehicle is very powerful and fast.  It can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds.  Top speed is 193 mph.  The first vehicles will have a 6.5-liter V12 engine that pumps out 725 hp and 528 ft-lbs of torque.  However, a new platform is being developed and engineered to allow for a plug-in hybrid and an electrified version paired with a small combustion engine. The "Thoroughbred" is expected to help Ferrari grow sales by 9% a year through 2026.  That would amount to $5.5 billion in car sales a year, which would be a very competitive place for Ferrari to be. As for the Purosangue, it is priced like a top thoroughbred at $394,000. For more news stories like this, Future Travel Vehicles
