World's Most Impressive Hypercar

A company many of us never heard of - the 115-year-old Czech engineering and race car manufacturer Praga Cars - is developing a car that automotive experts are calling the world's most impressive hypercar.  The Praga Bohema is automotive innovation on wheels.  Bohema is a street legal, 700 hp race car, inspired by Formula 1. The 2-seater is capable of speeds of 186 mph.  89 Bohema's will be hand built to honor the 89th anniversary of Praga's historic 1933 road race victory.  Customer deliveries will happen in 2023.  Believe it or not, in this age of electrified vehicles, Bohema is powered by a turbocharged and highly tuned, high performance 3.8-liter, 700 hp twin-turbo V6 engine.  The vehicle is being called a fitting tribute and fitting swansong to the internal combustion engine.

Why a Gas-Powered Engine?

Praga engineers and designers went with the gas-powered engine for performance. Electric battery systems add a great deal of weight to race cars and can degrade their performance.  Interestingly, the sale of hypercars powered by electric motors are not particularly strong. Several electric hypercars produced as limited editions are not sell-outs. Some automotive experts think that the pure combustion engine that powers the Bohema may prove to be a big sales advantage, particularly among car collectors.

Bohema's Data & Design

Bohema has a lightweight, all-carbon body and pushes the limits of aerodynamics.  Praga's goal is to make it the quickest street-legal car on the racing circuit. When travelling on a track at 155 mph, it generates 1,984 pounds of downforce on the 2,165-pound car for perfect cornering and feeding cool air to the turbocharged dual engines.  It's being called a work of art as far as its design is concerned. The design is breakthrough, iconic and a stunning departure from other race cars and hypercars.  It is so fluid it looks like it is in motion when at a standstill. It's a one-of-a-kind vehicle with tremendous acceleration and ease of handling.  A major distinction:  it sports long, elegant arms with wing, rear view mirrors that curve and reach up to the car's roof. Both on the road and on the racetrack, it is a truly distinctive new vehicle.
