NYU SCIENTISTS ON BRINK OF REVERSING GREYING HAIR
- When you hit your early twenties, for many, all of a sudden your hairdresser says "You've got a few white hairs!! And you are shocked & in disbelief
- Fortunately, some scientific help is now on the way for anyone looking at a head of greying hair & it's coming from the NYU Grossman School of Medicine
- NYU researchers believe that they've found the cause & the potential cure for greying hair
- Cause: stem cells that get stuck & immobilized in hair follicles as we age, which causes the hair to lose color because of the lack of access to color pigment cells
- Solution: NYU scientists are working to give more mobility to the cells
- Focus: Researchers have found stem cells with the unique ability to move between growth compartments in the follicles, which they are continuing to pursue
- Potential of this: Billions of people could retain their hair color without having to get it dyed by the hairdresser or by themselves at home to escape that aging, greying look & that would be a much better great, ageless, ongoing look.
