  • New tech inventions have the potential to enable runners to achieve elusive sub-2 hour marathon times & start shattering the world record marathon time of 2 hours 1 minute & 9 seconds
  • Some of the most highly advanced running innovations include:
  1. Futuristic Digital Twin - Using AI, sensors & simulation this emerging tech completely duplicates the runner in a digital format to help determine best methods of training, best diet & best running strategies for race day
  2. Nanobots - real-time monitoring of the runner's health, vitals, endurance, stamina to maximize training & race day performance
  3. Smart clothing with sensors - to detect in advance & even takes into account where there could be an injury or blister & reduce the pressure on those areas of the feet
  4. VR Racing - incorporating virtual racing through Virtual Reality into the training program to provide the dimension of the full race, create running programs & strategies, before the actual race day experience
  • With The Boston Marathon just run and The London Marathon coming up this weekend, there are many new & exciting technology tools for runners to improve their performance & pace for their next workout & race.

DUTCH SUPER YACHT - SUPER SUB

  • Dutch company U-Boat Worx has created a magnificent combination superyacht-submarine that is capable of serving as a yacht on the water and as an underwater submarine
  • The 123-foot long Nautilus can handle 17 people including the crew
  • It offers the ultimate in luxury boating including 360-degree spectacular views
  • It can dive to a depth of 492 feet & stay underwater for 4 days until it needs to resurface
  • Nautilus was inspired & influenced by the 1870 novel by Jules Verne "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea"
  • It's being co-developed by world renowned design firm Officina Armare
  • The price of this unique nautical innovation is $27,340,000.

OCEAN AS A GIANT SPONGE FOR CARBON DIOXIDE

  • UCLA researchers have developed, what they call, Seachange Pilot Plants that turn CO2 absorbed by the ocean into minerals (limestone & brucite) & leave the ocean able to absorb more CO2
  • The goal of the Seachange project is to "use the ocean as a big sponge" & clean up carbon dioxide (CO2)
  • They say their technology can electrochemically enhance & restore the ocean's capacity to remove CO2 & do it on a global scale
  • UCLA team says that 1800 industrial-scaled Seachange plants would capture 10 billion tons of CO2 a year, which is almost 1/3rd of the 37 billion tons emitted yearly into the atmosphere
  • Oceans are the world's biggest depository of CO2 emissions
  • UCLA is deploying 2 pilot plants to test the technology & process
  • If this new Climate Change fighting tech proves a success, it will be a huge "seachange" in the fight against Global Warming & the CO2 emissions behind it.
