Source: GAC
- Chinese automaker GAC has developed an off-roading concept that it is calling an alternative to private jets
- Unveiled at Milan Design Week and called Van Life, it can travel over almost any type of terrain, autonomously, and accommodates two people
- All electric, all-wheel drive and solid state batteries
- This is essentially a highly advanced, high end minivan for two
- Some impressive technologies featured:
- Lidar sensors on roof for autonomous driving
- Headlights merging into a continuous LED strip with a pixelated look for maximum visibility
- Wheels have extended legs to claw out of extremely difficult off-roading
- 2 seats in front and rest of vehicle is living space with panoramic roof
- SAC says this vehicle has big range and power
- No word from SAC yet on production date or pricing but they do view the EV as a big potential contender for Van Life.

- At the Frontier Forum 2023 in Switzerland, renowned conservationist Dr. Jane Goodall expressed optimism that humans will use their brains to take action against Climate Change
- The highly innovative, precedent setting scientist who lived with apes for decades in Africa to document their behavior, intelligence and ways of life, gave 4 key reasons why she is so optimistic:
- Energy and commitment of young people
- Resilience of nature
- Amazing human intellect
- People are beginning to use their brains on the problem wisely
- The 89-year-old scientist also pointed out what she thinks is the most important - "Our indomitable spirit which enables us to tackle what seems to be impossible and so often succeed"
- Dr. Goodall believes success in conquering Climate Change will come from key new innovations which help to reverse some of the already present effects of CC including CO2 sucking machines, regenerative agriculture, choosing to buy ethically sourced products and plant-based diets.
AIRBUS QUEST FOR WORLD'S 1st HYDROGEN COMMERCIAL AIRCRAFT
- Airbus is determined to develop the world's 1st hydrogen powered passenger aircraft by 2035
- Their prototype Maverick which they continue to develop is an unusual blended wing design that can seat 200 passengers
- It will be powered by carbon emissions free hydrogen with the hydrogen tanks under the wings
- 2 hydrogen turbofan engines provide power and thrust
- The wings blend into and merge with the plane's body giving an exceptionally wide fuselage
- Maverick is on track in its development and is one of the hottest green aircraft prototypes now under development
- It's being designed for a nautical range of 2,500 nautical miles.
