NEW LIFE SAVING CANCER & HEART DISEASE VACCINES
- Cambridge, MA based Moderna says it expects to offer new, lifesaving vaccines that prevent cancer, heart disease & other untreatable conditions by 2030 & perhaps even earlier in 2028
- The message of hope for patients & their families comes from Moderna Chief Medical Officer Dr. Paul Burton
- The magic bullet is advances in messenger RNA technology, 1st used by Moderna in its Covid vaccine, that is now enabling breakthrough new vaccines
- Of particular promise is a personalized cancer vaccine that targets different tumor types, that Dr. Burton says could save "millions of lives"
- The personalized cancer vaccine is being co-developed by Moderna & Merck
- New vaccines under development at Moderna include those targeted at: infectious diseases, autoimmune diseases, rare diseases, cancer & cardiovascular disease.

NYPD'S ROBOTIC POLICE FORCE REPORTS FOR DUTY
- New York City's Police Department is doing very smart, high tech robotic policing
- 3, new hi-tech policing devices have reported to the department for duty: a Boston Dynamics Spot robodog named Digidog; a GPS advanced tracking system for stolen cars and a security robot for foot patrols
- Remote controlled, 70 pd., K9 robot Digidog is highly mobile & will be deployed to assess & move into high-risk situations like a hostage standoff in an effort to keep police officers out of harm's way
- The GPS tracking system called StarChase enables police to launch a GPS tag that attaches itself to the stolen car & pinpoints the exact location for police to seize it
- The K5 Autonomous Security Robot will start its service at the Times Square subway station as a crime deterrent with autonomous patrols
- Some police reform activists and civil libertarians are calling the robo crime fighters an overreach
- Digidog is actually coming back to the NYPD and "out of the pound" after being cut a few years ago when critics complained to then Mayor DeBlasio that he was "creepy".
