CHATTING WITH YOUR MERCEDES
Source: Mercedes
- Mercedes has added ChatGPT, the large language model developed by Open AI, to a large swathe of its cars to enable you to have conversations with your car
- The technology is available to 900,000 customers whose cars are equipped with the MBUX infotainment system, first in the US to test and preview it, before MB gives consideration to rolling it out permanently in other global markets
- With ChatGPT, the "Hey Mercedes" voice assistant will become much more conversational and intuitive
- It takes the car's conversational skills beyond answering questions to carrying on a natural conversation on any subject
- Mercedes is using Microsoft's Open AI Service that brings the natural language model to the car's voice assistant
- Mercedes is also considering ChatGPT plug-ins to perform tasks like making restaurant reservations and booking movie tickets
- You can participate by telling your Mercedes voice assistant: "Hey Mercedes, I want to join the Beta program"
- It certainly will be fascinating to hear what your car has to say to you.
NEW TECH FOT ATHLETES TO RAMP UP PERFORMANCE
- Israeli startup Yopi has innovated a sensor, worn on the arm, that uses biosensors and AI algorithms, to monitor oxygen consumption through the athlete's electrolytes in their sweat while they're working out
- Before Yopi's highly portable, wearable sweat sensor, this had to be done with a facial mask
- According to the American Heart Association, the measurement of VO2, or volume and oxygen, is the best way to measure cardiovascular fitness
- It shows the amount of oxygen the athlete needs to advance their performance and informs about changes needed to their training plan and diet
- Specifically, it enables each athlete to train in sync with their physical condition and improving it
- Yopi this summer is crowdfunding its commercialization.
