JAPAN'S FLOATING CITY TO FIGHT CC

• A team of Japanese architects is designing a huge floating city to serve as an ark that adapts to Climate Change for 40,000 people as climate change causes sea levels to rise
• Called "Dogen City", it's being developed by start-up N-Ark
• Key facts:
• Designed to be self-sufficient for 40,000 people at a time with 10,000 of them permanent residents
• Circular in design, 2.5 miles in circumstances, total of 390 acres
• 3 components:  outer ring contains living areas & utilities; inside the ring are floating buildings, bridges & more; under the island below the surface are medical research facilities & data center
• Facilities:  floating parks, sports stadium, food growing, churches, hotels, healthcare, etc.
• Like Noah's Ark, it will host victims of natural disasters and also climate refugees
• Targeted opening date:  2030.

WORLD'S MOST REMOTE ROBOT IN THE AMAZON

• A robot named YuMi, developed by Sweden's ABB Robotics, is deployed in the remote Amazon rainforest on a mission to save it from deforestation by planting seeds to create new trees
• ABB is supplying the Amazon restoration group Junglekeepers with the robot to innovate & automate the process of saving and rescuing 55,000 acres of Amazon rainforest by digging holes, dropping in seeds, compacting the soil and tagging the spots for the new trees
• YuMi is the earth's most remote robot
• In Sweden, 7,460 miles away, ABB experts are using ABB RobotStudio Cloud tech to simulate, refine & deploy the programming needed for YuMi to perform his rainforest tasks
• Every day YuMi plants seeds in areas the size of 2 soccer fields, freeing up the Junglekeepers to do other important tasks
• 20% of the Amazon rainforest has been lost to deforestation through logging and burning, which has destroyed tens of billions of trees - YuMi is helping the Junglekeepers to reverse that.

• New Renault-led, tech collaboration on a concept car that offers unique cyberattack protection
• Called H1st Vision, the car & its unique technologies are the result of Renault's collaboration with 5 French technology leaders
• Systems built around Renault's Mobilize car charger are from & include:

1. Defense companyThales cybersecurity solutions
2. Telecom Thales 4G network
3. Chipmaker ST Microelectronics controllers
4. Software maker Dassault
5. IT provider Atos

• H1st Vision, just unveiled at Vivatech Conference in Paris, showcases advances in tech R&D in biometry, cybersecurity & energy efficiency
• Some key innovations:

1. Cybersecurity detect & respond system connected to response center
2. Biometric detection of driver's face & silhouette when they approach the car
3. Targeted sound system that alerts the driver in a "sound bubble"
4. Mood & health analysis of driver through sensors in steering wheel
5. Parking system with ability to drop car next to free floating bikes
6. Vehicle to grid bidirectional tech that connects grid to car & car to home to cut electricity bill

• These new technologies will be available in the new Renault 5 in 2024
• Renault's take:  "Mobility is intertwined with different ecosystems...like telecom, city & energy & it can't be managed in a vertical silo alone" - hence their highly innovative tech collaboration.
