AI COULD BE YOUR CHILD'S BEST FRIEND

                                                            Source:  Embodied

  • CA-based robotics company Embodied has created an AI-enabled robot for kids named Moxie
  • It's a companion robot designed to foster social, emotional and cognitive development and life skills in kids 5 to 10 years old
  • Unlike AI Chatbot, Moxie uses non-verbal ways to communicate 93% of the time, like facial expressions and body language - although it can talk
  • Equipped with sensors, microphones and cameras
  • Very cute with big, expressive eyes and a blue body
  • Created by former NASA scientist Paolo Pirjanian, who is the founder and CEO of Embodied
  • Pirjanian says he's taken a very protective approach to the children's personal information and is incorporating a system of parental consent, where the parents approve or disapprove the content.
  • Cost $799.00.

  • New global research strongly links the rise in air pollution with the rise in antibiotic resistant bacteria
  • Scientists say this linkage poses a serious threat to human health
  • Key facts:
  1. First study to show how air pollution affects antibiotic resistance globally
  2. Global study of 100 nations over 20 years
  3. Research led by UK and Chinese science teams
  4. Air pollution is linked to rising numbers of bacteria resistant to antibiotics across every country and continent
  5. Also documents that both air pollution and bacteria resistant to antibiotics are accelerating
  • Groundbreaking scientific research on air pollution and bacteria that could be addressed by intensified global efforts to reduce air pollution
  • Just published in Lancet Planetary Health Journal.
