CHINA MAKES HISTORY WITH FLYING TAXI
- China has given flying car maker Ehang the world's first full, aviation authority approval to fly passengers in fully autonomous air taxis. Here are the facts:
- Ehang is the world's 1st flying taxi to get full certification to fly
- Certification is to fly in China
- EH216-S AAV is fully operational, fully autonomous and carries 2 passengers
- Company says it will expand operations beyond China in 2024
- Vehicle is an eVTOL
- Ehang is Guangzhou, China based and is US-listed
- Ehang is now deciding what cities to start service
- China's airworthiness approval will make it easier to get okays from the US, Europe and Southeast Asia for commercial operations
- Ehang has 1200 orders for its vehicles from outside of China
- Ehang has a market cap of $1 billion and its share price has doubled this year.
