  • Stanford and Tulane University experts say some basic food swaps can help to lower our carbon footprint by 35%.  Here's what we know:
  • Their study states that cutting your carbon footprint by diet wouldn't require a complete overhaul
  • Some examples:
  1. Swap crab for salmon
  2. Meatless hotdog instead of a cheese-filled hotdog
  3. Have a chicken sandwich instead of a cheeseburger
  4. BBQ pork short ribs for BBQ beef short ribs
  5. Turkey lunchmeat instead of salame
  6. Chicken for lamb chops
  7. Turkey ham for canned corned beef
  • If changes like these were universally adopted, it would cut the US dietary carbon footprint by more than 35%
  • This research is a recipe for individuals to reduce their environmental impact and improve the quality of their diet at the same time
  • While small changes like these dietary ones by individuals can have large impact, it can only help reduce not eradicate Climate Change.
