  • On the runway at Paris Fashion Week, supermodel Naomi Campbell wore a first-of-its-kind "AI Pin" on the lapel of her jacket.  It was the first look at software & hardware company Humane's wearable "AI Pin" and a dramatic example of a big AI wearable-device trend.  Here's what we know:
  1. AI Pin is an intelligent and connected AI device that is pocket-sized and designed to be worn on clothing so you can have AI capabilities on the move
  2. It uses a wide range of sensors that enable contextual and ambient computer interaction
  3. The company says it's a screenless, standalone device built from the ground-up for AI
  4. Its full capabilities will be detailed during its November debut
  5. Among known capabilities, it can alert you to phone calls, translate sentences into foreign languages and tell you that you're allergic to the chocolate you're eating
  6. AI pin is part of a big AI wearable device trend to supplant the smartphone
  7. Among other new AI wearable devices, Ray-Ban Meta Smart AI glasses, just introduced by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, with mikes, cameras, speakers embedded with Meta AI
  8. Also, Rewind Pendants by startup Rewhd - $59.00 necklace embedded with AI, that looks like a piece of jewelry
  9. Rewind Pendants, according to the company, "record what you do and make it searchable" as a database of your activities, including what you see and hear
  10. These wearable AI devices make it incredibly convenient to have AI on the go
  11. Some tech companies hope we prefer the wearables to our smartphones
  12. A caveat: wearables do present some privacy issues because it can be difficult to know that you're being recorded.
