BMW'S IX5 HYDROGEN CAR: GAMECHANGER FOR AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY?
Source: BMW
- With the introduction of the IX5 hydrogen car, BMW is exciting experts with the idea of a new competitor in the race for sustainability. Here's what we know:
- A prominent brand like BMW going with hydrogen represents a strong alternative to electric cars
- Both hydrogen and electric vehicles are good for the environment - neither emit harmful gases
- A major plus for hydrogen is it can be filled with fuel very quickly and can go a much longer distance than an EV without refueling
- Many people feel electric charging takes too long and EVs don't go far enough on a charge
- A problem with hydrogen cars is the lack of places to fuel
- As hydrogen refueling centers show up and with a strong global brand like BMW promulgating hydrogen vehicles, people may start choosing hydrogen vehicles over electric vehicles
- BMW's IX5 hydrogen car could prove to be a gamechanger for the automotive industry.
NEW WEAPON IN FIGHT AGAINST CANCER
- US research team has developed a new, innovative way to destroy cancer at the molecular level, that looks like a breakthrough. Here are some key facts:
- Using vibrating molecules, the scientists destroyed 99% of cancer cells in the lab
- The molecules are aminocyanine molecules caused to vibrate in sync by near-infrared light
- They destroyed 99% of the cancer cell membranes which simply broke apart
- These results are considered very significant and a marked improvement over other types of cancer killing molecular machines
- The approach is called the molecular jackhammer
- Scientific team is from Rice University, University of Texas and Texas A&M
- Big potential: because of the near-infrared light, the molecular jackhammer can go deep into the body and without surgery tackle bone and organ cancers
- Important research that all of us, including investors, should monitor for next steps.
