CHINA'S EV ANSWER TO TESLA

  • China's smartphone giant Xiaomi unveiled its 1st EV - the SU7 - designed to take-on Tesla and Porsche.  Here's what we know:
  • According to Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun, SU7 defeats Porsche and Tesla in acceleration and other key metrics
  • Range on a charge is 500 miles; Tesla S' range is 320 to 410 miles
  • Tremendous acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in 2.78 seconds
  • Self-driving capabilities
  • Shared operating system with Xiaomi's popular smartphones and electronic devices
  • Entertainment system fully compatible with Xiaomi's smartphone
  • CEO Jun says price could be anywhere from $14,000 to $56,000, while Tesla S starts at $74,990
  • Goes on sale in China in 2024
  • Like smartphone makers Apple and Foxconn, Xiaomi is trying to break into the automotive industry.


NOT A UFO, IT'S A USO - UNIDENTIFIED SUBMERGED OBJECT MOVING AT 3,330 MPH

  • Virginia Tech professor and Defense expert Dr. Robert McGwire encountered an underwater unidentified object moving at more than the speed of sound or 3,330 mph.  Here's what we know:
  • While doing classified work on a US Navy submarine, Dr. McGwire heard a sound whiz by
  • Such strong sounds at the speed of sound underwater should have crushed the sub
  • The incident occurred in the late 1990's and the military team was told not to report it; Dr. McGwire says he was not
  • Dr. McGwire has High Security Intelligence Clearance and a PhD from Brown University
  • The underwater sighting lasted a few seconds
  • Details including location and depth were not reported due to it being a classified mission
  • Context: 
  1. Fastest sea animal is the swordfish at 68 mph
  2. Fastest man-made object is a Russian torpedo at 230 mph
  3. Unidentified submerged object (USO) going at speed of sound underwater projected at 3,330 mph
  • Bottomline:  while we're accustomed to looking up for UFO's, we might start looking below for USO's.  It appears that unidentified flying objects can travel effortlessly through water and air.
