SONY-HONDA PLAYSTATION EV STEALS THE SHOW AT CES 2024
- Sony's President unveiled their new EV Afeela at CES 2024 by using a Playstation controller to drive it onto the stage. It made quite a splash!! Here are some key facts:
- Afeela is under development through a partnership between Sony and Honda, called Sony Honda Mobility, to transform the EV industry
- The new EV concept was driven onto the CES stage via a remote DuelSense controller
- The capability of driving the car remotely was remarkable but it was an event just for CES 2024; it's not expected to be present in the EV when it hits the market
- Sony is also working with Microsoft to have AI incorporated into Afeela by the time it hits global markets
- Afeela provides a fresh look at the potentialities of the future of driving.
TORONTO TO MONTREAL IN ONE HOUR BY TRAIN

- TransPod, a Toronto startup, just revealed plans to build vacuum trains to shuttle passengers at 621 mph. Here's what we know:
- TransPod, a hyperloop-style vacuum train, can reach high speeds through magnetic levitation
- It can transport 54 passengers or up to 10 tons of cargo per trip
- Cost will be 44% cheaper than a plane ticket
- The 500-mile trip between Toronto and Montreal will take one hour
- The "Flux Jet" trains will levitate through vacuum tubes and be powered by plasma
- It will travel at the speed of a commercial jet's cruising speed
- TransPod is already developing a 186-mile line between Calgary and Edmonton for $18 billion
- The company claims to have the technology to make the system a reality by 2035
- It will provide a faster and more sustainable way for Canadians to travel.
