- Florida-based, space balloon company Space Perspective just unveiled the world's most luxurious space capsule for tourist trips to the edges of space. Here's what we know:
- The space vessel is called Neptune
- It's like a swanky space lounge with a bar, reclining chairs, massive windows and a lot of passenger space
- Space Perspective is a hot, space balloon tourism company with 1600 passengers booked for trips, to the tune of $200 million in sales
- Its giant space balloon propulsion system lifts it to the edges of space and back at 8 miles an hour for the 8-hour trips
- Reaches the edges of space at a maximum altitude of 100,000 feet
- 16-foot diameter sphere with an internal volume of 2,000 cubic feet
- Company claims this is the world's largest space tourism capsule
- Capsule is 4-times the size of Space X's Crew Dragon and double the size of Blue Origin's New Shepherd
- Will fly out of Cape Canaveral
- Expects to fly space tourist passengers in 2025
- Fascinating new mode of travel that could be operating in a year
- Extensive ground and flight testing underway over the next months.
LEXUS NEW SPORTS CAR WITH RACING IN ITS DNA
- Lexus is developing a brand-new sports car, designed for racing and for driving on the road. Here are some key facts:
- Expected to hit the road and the track in 2025
- Called the GR GT3 concept
- Expected to be part of the Lexus, rather than parent company Toyota, brand for both road and track
- Spectacular, aerodynamic design
- Engine expected to be either a 3.5-liter V6 with additional hybrid engine or a 3,4-liter, twin-turbo V6 engine used on the Toyota Tundra (US) and Toyota Tacoma pickups
- Being called a "race-bred" sports car
- This new car is getting a lot of buzz with few details being divulged by Lexus so far.
