  • Think you'll find this very interesting!  A 165-mile, super-highway for drones is being developed between the UK's Midlands and the Southeast. This could be a fast starter to get drones through regulatory hurdles. It is unprecedented.  Here's what we know:
  • It's a world first
  • Allows pilotless drones to make high speed deliveries across the country
  • Developed by Altitude Angel
  • Skeptics warn it poses risks for privacy and safety of Britons living in the flight path
  • Also, for people in the flight path, it may be annoying and intrusive
  • It will contain 30 Arrow-Towers to control drones from the ground
  • Each tower offers a range of 2.5 miles and coordinates traffic
  • Designed as a network system to keep drones in their own highway zone
  • Super-highway drones will fly at 400-feet while commercial aircraft will be at 35,000 feet
  • Altitude Angel estimates that no more than 10 drones will use the 165-mile super-highway a day
  • Also of significance, most of the drones are fixed wing and almost silent
  • The project has gotten the green light from the UK government and awaits Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) approval
  • This is potentially enabling innovation to make drones a part of the traffic infrastructure, globally. It's worth watching.

  • 2 tech giants, Microsoft and Open AI, are developing a supercomputer for AI.  Here are some key facts:
  • So far, Open AI and Microsoft have invested $100 billion into developing the AI supercomputer
  • Their project has been fairly secretive
  • It's code-named Stargate
  • The purpose is to advance new AI models, applications and uses being developed by Open AI
  • This accelerates the technology war among leading players, including Google, to achieve big breakthroughs in AI
  • The Micrisoft-Open AI supercomputer data center will be US-based
  • It could contain millions of cutting-edge AI chips
  • They hope to open 5 AI facilities with Stargate the largest
  • Stargate could open by 2028
  • Top goals: develop best ChatGPT model and generative AI technologies.
