  • Computer scientists at the University of East London have developed an AI model that pinpoints a dog's personality to match it with the perfect human owner.  This AI application takes picking your next dog from blind luck to scientific prediction. Here are some key facts:
  • The scientists are using the behavioral records of 70,000 dogs provided by the University of Pennsylvania
  • The personality traits are identified in individual dogs, not by breed or gender
  • So far, it's said to be 99% accurate
  • The AI can select the right dog for the right job, be it working as a police dog to sniff-out drugs or being the perfect family pet
  • 5 types of personality categories are used:
  1. Excitable and hyper-attached
  2. Anxious and fearful
  3. Aloof and predatory
  4. Reactive and assertive
  5. Calm and agreeable
  • This is new, breakthrough AI technology with a big need:  60% of dogs adopted don't remain in the original home and 20% are sent back to the shelter they came from
  • My sweet girl Win is certainly in the "Calm and Agreeable" category.  She just turned 2 with her B-Day hat.

  • 28 miles off the coast of the Netherlands, a huge artificial island is being built to house renewable energy technologies.  It's called Princess Elizabeth Island and will serve as a renewable energy hub for Europe.  Here are the facts:
  • World's 1st and a European Union 100 million Euro grant is partially funding the undertaking
  • They're building an artificial island using 2.3 million cubic meters of sand in a location 28 miles off the coast
  • On the island they'll build watertight, concrete structures called caissons that are 187' long, 100' wide & 100' tall to serve as walls
  • It's an island of renewable energy infrastructure to support the growing number of wind farms in the North Sea
  • It's an energy grid at sea
  • Will support land-based Princess   Elizabeth Zone to deliver energy to homes and businesses
  • Will handle energy exchanges between countries
  • Operational by 2030
  • Prime Minister of Belgium Alexander De Croo says:  "The North Sea is set to become the powerhouse of our energy independence and Princess Elizabeth Island will be a critical part of the process".
