  • University of Colorado, Boulder scientists indicate that turning to junk food when we're anxious makes matters worse.  Here's what we know:
  • Experiments on animals found that fatty foods disrupt gut bacteria
  • Fatty foods alter behavior and influence brain chemicals to fuel anxiety
  • Little did I know that the junk food that I thought was giving me solace during anxious moments was actually making me more nervous
  • Next time I get the jitters, instead of reaching for goodies...I'll go out for a run.
ALEXA IS GETTING A LOT SMARTER

  • Amazon is giving its smart assistant Alexa a big intelligence boost with upgraded AI.  Here's what we know:
  • Alexa is being upgraded with powerful generative AI capabilities
  • She'll be able to respond faster and in a very conversational way to complicated questions and requests
  • Inside Amazon, it's being called "Remarkable Alexa"
  • This will be the 1st major upgrade since Alexa was introduced in 2014
  • Targeted for release later this year
  • Will require a $5 monthly fee to access the enhanced AI capabilities
  • Considered a major move by Amazon to compete against generative AI capabilities of Google, Microsoft and OpenAI
  • Also, it's a major move to make Alexa profitable for the first time.
