New Green Energy Innovations The US Department of Energy (DOE) says that to achieve the President's solar goals, solar energy needs to be installed at five-times the current rate.

UK Accelerates Ban on Combustion Engines Source:  City of London Committed to Cutting CO2 Emissions The United Kingdom is aggressively banning the sale of new gas, diesel and hybrid cars starting in 2035.  That's five years ahead of the previously announced schedule.  The ban is aggressive and even includes plug-in hybrids. Brexit The UK's automakers association, the SMMT, is sharply critical of the new measures. They are asking for more government support right now to make the changes sustainable and support jobs during the Brexit exit.  UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson says the UK is committed to cutting their CO2 emission:  "As a country, as a society, as a planet, as a species, we must act now." Europe's Major Commitment to the Environment Demands for electric vehicles is surging in the UK, which is Europe's second largest car market. The government is funding $3.25 million to build 1,000 new charging stops for EVs

Targets 2030's To Sell EVs Only Aims for Carbon Free Society Japan's Subaru Corp. just announced that it's targeting the first half of the 2030's to sell only electric cars worldwide.  The automaker has a long term goal of helping to foster a carbon free society.  Subaru's plan is bold and ambitious.  It comes just as Subaru announced an intensified relationship with Toyota to essentially share the costs of developing new technologies for electric and self-driving cars. Detailed Plan Subaru has a series of specific targets it wants to meet in order to go all-electric.  First, it will develop a "strong hybrid" that will include Toyota technologies. The "strong" hybrid is believed to be in concept stage right now. The strong hybrid will complement its current line-up of hybrids and hybrid plugins.  It's also building an all-battery vehicle with Toyota.  Both new vehicles should be available later in this decade. 2030 and Be
