Chevrolet's latest concept car, the FNR-XE, is an electric sedan that Chevy calls a look at the next generation of intelligent electric vehicles.   SAIC-GM-Wuling's Small, Electric Off-Roader with No Name                                        Source:  Baojun Teaser Images Very Small but Powerful Electric SUV Baojun, a subsidiary of the SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW) joint venture, has just released teaser images of what is being called by automotive experts "a mystery car" that is an awesome, tiny, electric off-road SUV.  The EV has rugged, off-road styling, along with a very small footprint, boxy-rectangular contours with rounded edges and traditional off-road proportions.  The vehicle is a bit of a mystery.  At this point, it has no name and no logo.  But it is a concept car that appears to be production ready.  And, it is not being taken lightly because part of the brainpower behind it is coming from no less than GM and top Chinese automakers SAIC and Wuling.   Chevy Equinox Costs About $30,000                                                  Source:  Chevrolet GM:  An EV For Everyone This is an epic automotive development - an electric vehicle that is affordable.  Chevrolet has just unveiled an EV for the masses.  It's the Chevrolet Equinox that is priced around $30,000. By comparison, the average EV in July 2022 sold for $60,000.  The 2024 mid-sized SUV is $35,000 less than the Tesla Y and $13,000 less than the Ford Mustang Mach E.  Equinox is currently GM's second-best selling vehicle, right behind the Silverado. The new, all- electric Equinox vehicle makes it inexpensive to be green, zero emissions and beneficial to the environment.  GM has designed it to be a game-changing EV.  The vehicle has a range on a charge up to 300 miles.  It will be offered in a variety of trims, battery sizes and ranges. Cadillac has finally offered a formal preview of its much-anticipated Celestiq, which is an all-electric, long, sleek and powerful beauty of a hatchback.  The EV is expected to be Cadillac's flagship.  Automotive experts are marveling at its elegance, power and beauty, adding that there is nothing like it on the market.  It's a concept car that Cadillac says it will put into production and put on the market in the next couple of years.  Rumors has it that it will be priced at $300,000, putting it into the Rolls Royce category.   GM & Lockheed Martin's Lunar Rover Source:  GM, Lockheed, NASA One Big Moonshot For automotive giant GM and aerospace giant Lockheed Martin, their new partnership to develop a commercial lunar rover is one big Moonshot.  Their prototype looks a bit like a toy but this is not fun and games.  They intend to deliver their Lunar Mobility Vehicles (LMV) to customers by 2025.  The electric moon vehicle could prove to be an important part of NASA's Artemis Mission that will bring astronauts back to the Moon this decade, 50 years after the Apollo mission. A Big Commitment With or Without Government Funding Lockheed and GM intend to build the Moon vehicles with or without government funding.  There is no guarantee that they will win the NASA bidding process and be awarded a contract for use of the vehicle during the Artemis mission, set to launch in 2025.  The companies say they are building the LMV 100% for industrial use. Chevy's Silverado Goes Electric

  Zero Emissions and 400 Mile Range on a Charge                                                  Source:  GM Two Electrifying Versions   At the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2022 in Las Vegas, Chevrolet introduced its first, all-electric Silverado pickup truck.  This is Chevy's answer to Ford's all-electric Ford-150 Lightning pickup.  It is also the beginning of head-on, electric truck competition among GM, Ford and the much-delayed Tesla Cybertruck promised to debut sometime this year.  Lightning will hit the market later this year. Chevy will start selling the Silverado EV in 2023.
