  Jaguar Land Rover's Major EV Commitment                                             Source:  Jaguar Luxury Electric Vehicles Luxury automotive brand Jaguar will be entirely electric by 2025.  That commitment puts it in the forefront of the global race among automakers to offer zero emissions vehicles.  The JLR - Jaguar Land Rover - group will offer a full range of EVs by 2030. Multi-Billion Dollar Investment JLR is owned by India's Tata Motors.  Over the next five years, Land Rover will offer six new electric vehicles.  JLR will keep its plants open in the United Kingdom while its transitions the operation for the production of electric vehicles.  The company will spend $3.5 billion yearly on electric technology and the development of connected vehicle services.  The challenge for Jaguar will be to give the new electric vehicles the feeling of power and thrust that Jaguar has traditionally had for drivers.

  German Led Innovation                                   Source: Software Stock Image Remote Access Software Berlin Germany based tech group IOTA is teaming-up with British based Jaguar Land Rover and Japan's NTT Data to launch new software that gives consumers the power to remotely access and control items like appliances and cars.  The software is called IOTA Access and was developed in the UK at the University of Cambridge along with a European startup.  It grants the owner access and grants or rejects conditional access to individuals other than the user of the physical device. International Effort The launch of Iota Access is a global effort.  IOTA specializes in distributed ledgers.  That's a technology similar to blockchain. IOTA is being joined in the launch by Jaguar, Europe's STMicro-electronics and Japan's NTT Data.  According to IOTA co-founder Dominik Schiener, "our phone should be our personal keys to access everything."   Jaguar Jaguar and IOTA

Vector Concept That's Electric, Autonomous & Urban Source:  Jaguar Land Rover Vector Designed for Urban Mobility & Destination Zero Jaguar Land Rover just unveiled a brand new concept electric vehicle, Project Vector, that CEO Ralf Speth says is "autonomous ready". This EV is designed for private, shared and commercial use in urban areas. It looks more like a shuttle van than a traditional car.  But, it's very important to Jaguar Land Rover.  They are collaborating with what they call "the brightest minds in academia" at the UK's National Automotive Innovation Center at the University of Warwick, supply chains and digital services to create a connected, integrated mobility system to get to "Destination Zero".  That's a destination that has zero accidents, zero emissions and zero congestion. Banks on Voyage's Autonomous Technology Source:  Voyage Funding to Commercialize Luxury automotive maker Jaguar Land Rover, headquartered in Coventry, England, is investing in autonomous vehicle startup Voyage.  Voyage is headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area.  They say their cars are equipped with state of the art, advanced sensors, giving a 360 degree picture of the world hundreds of  meters around the car.  They're also using machine learning to develop state of the art perception models. To Introduce G3 Self-Driving Vehicle The fresh funding will be used to bring Voyage's technology into commercialization, expand production of its fleet of G2 self-driving vehicles and introduce its G3 autonomous vehicle.  This is a follow-on investment by Jaguar Land Rover's VC arm InMotion Ventures.  The round of fundraising is being led by Franklin Templeton with $52 million raised so far. Autonomous in the Driver's Seat Waymo is the Google self-driving car project that's now a division of Google's parent Alphabet. It's seems to be leaving other autonomous car makers far behind.  You might say, it's in the driver's seat - along with its combo of laser-radars, sensors and software. A ride-hailing program is expected to be launched later this year. Road Warrior The Waymo vehicles have done 8 million miles in autonomous driving, including 25,000 miles a day on city streets.  The vehicles have 360 degree sensors, radar and software that's designed to detect people, cyclists, vehicles, road work and obstructions up to 3 football fields away.  The cars are taught on 8 million miles of real-world traffic and they're about to be commercialized. Electric Boat that Almost Flies Jaguar just broke another speed record.  Not for racing cars.  This one is for their electric boat.  It just happened in late June, shattering the world electric speed record for boat racing.  The electric boat is the Jaguar Vector. The racing happened on Coniston Water, the third largest lake in the English Lake District. The Jaguar V makes eco-friendly, green, clean electric water craft look good for waterways and the environment. Jaguar Vector Racing The Jaguar Vector has a V20E electric engine.  Electricity provides all the boat's electric power and powers the motor and control systems.  The Jaguar V smashed a previous world record of 76.8 mph set a few years ago.
