Here's what we know: At New York University this weekend, 40 scientists signed the New York Declaration on Animal Consciousness which argues that scientific research indicates a widespread possibility of animal consciousness - awareness of their experiences, joy, pain and more Some animal consciousness experts think we are blinded as a whole on how our sentience might work in other species Recent experiments showed that bees played with wooden balls just for fun; fish recognized their image in an underwater mirror; and octopus avoid things that caused previous pain Bottomline: they are a lot smarter than we think &a
