SCENTS MIGHT HELP YOU RECOVER Source: Stock University of Pittsburgh study indicates specific smells that trigger happy memories could help reverse negativity. Here's what we know: The University of Pittsburgh Medical School study found that scents are more effective than words at bringing up a memory of a specific event The study showed scents could even be used to help depressed people break negative thought cycles and reverse thought patterns resulting in faster and smoother healing They found odors trigger memories that can feel vivid and real Researchers had study participants sniff various scents and describe memories either good or bad Examples include: oranges, shoe polish, ground coffee, Vicks VapoRub, flowers, etc. Key finding-- Scent memory recall was stronger in depressed individuals who receiv
